Overview

Ah Wah Hokkien Mee is a cherished culinary gem nestled in Taman Impian, Kuala Lumpur, known predominantly for its signature 福建面, the Hokkien Mee goreng. This dish captures the essence of traditional Malaysian Chinese street food with a nostalgic, old-school flair that draws both locals and visitors seeking authentic flavors. The noodles are cooked to a perfect balance—neither too soft nor overly firm—with a rich, smoky depth that speaks to the wok hei technique cherished in Chinese cooking.

Located along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Ah Wah presents a simple, no-frills dining space reminiscent of classic hawker stalls. Its humble setup, accommodating about 20 tables, fosters a communal and unpretentious atmosphere that complements the hearty and robust dishes on offer. Besides the famed Hokkien Mee, the menu features other traditional delights such as Fried Bean Curd, Bahkau Soup, and 卤面, each prepared with care and a nod to heritage recipes.

The stall primarily operates in the evening, making it a favored evening haunt for those craving a filling, flavorful meal after a day in the city. While the service can be a bit slow during peak hours—an indicator of its popularity—the staff’s efficiency often counterbalances this, ensuring diners ultimately enjoy their meal in good spirits.

Ah Wah caters to food enthusiasts who value authenticity and simplicity over glamour. It is perfect for those who appreciate the rustic charm of street food culture and want to indulge in dishes that deliver bold, comforting tastes. Whether you are a long-time fan of Hokkien Mee or a curious newcomer, this spot promises a genuine and memorable experience rooted in tradition.

It you have the time to wait (at least 1 hour) then you can try this place. Hokkien mee and hard to find fried pak kor is good. You may order some snacks or finger food while waiting, their fried bean curd and fish cake is worth trying. This shop is located back lane of shop lots and is not air-conditioned.
